Laura Festival

I dreamt for years to go to the Laura Festival, and finally, here we were at Laura (100 inhabitants, one General Store) 300 kms north west of Cairns.

For the first time in the history of this aboriginal festival and gathering place, the road was sealed all the way. I had just finished my studies, I could finally relax and enjoy such a treat far away from the city lights, camping in the bush with my family.

We were lucky to arrive on Day 1. The atmosphere was calm and the kids were swimming in the nearby river. In the evening, we had to collect coupons for our common meal. There were camp fires everywhere as the sun went down.

Nice part of the Road on the way back. Note our from a distance, far apart trees can appear as dots in the landscape and fire artists' imagination or way of knowing
